Ball Kicked Away at Various Points in the E2E3 Reverse #1 Pattern Results Table

The table on this page, shows the results of practices in which I did the E2E3 Reverse Pattern, but on one of the kicks in the pattern, kicked the ball away instead. On the E2E3 pattern, I kick the ball with my left foot, step with my right and my left, kick the ball with the outside of my right foot on a slant to the right, step with my left foot, kick the ball again with my the outside of my right foot on a slant to my right, step with my left foot, step with my right foot, and then kick the ball on a slant to my left with my left foot, all without the ball touching the ground, at between a jogging and a sprint speed. The pattern can go on for more than four touches but that is beside the point for now.

How to Read the Table:

Col A: Number of kick representing chronological order of kicks during the practice.

Col B:  K1 means that the table row shows what happened when I flipped the ball up and then kicked it hard and away on the first kick without moving more than a couple of feet from the start point. K2 means the row shows what happened when I flipped the ball up, kicked it with my left foot, stepped with my right and left feet, and then kicked the ball again with the outside of my right foot, before the ball hit the ground, about 2.7 meters from the point of the first kick. K2 shows what happens when, while executing the E2E3 pattern, on the second kick of the pattern I shoot/pass with max force instead of continuing to fly with the ball. K3 means the table row shows what happened when I flipped the ball up, kicked it with my left foot, stepped with my right and left feet, kicked the ball with my right foot, at a point approx 2.7 meters from the start point, on an angle to the right, stepped with the left foot, and then, at a point about 2 meters from the point of the previous kick, kicked the ball away with max force using the outside of my right foot, all without the ball hitting the ground. K4 is the same as K3 up to the third touch, with the K4,  on the third kick, the ball is kicked on a slant right, I step with the left, I step with the right, and then I kick the ball with my right foot, all without the ball touching the ground.

Col C: For balls which bounced before hitting the wall or the ceiling, how many meters from start point (point where ball first flipped up) ball first hit ground. Col D: horizontal distance in meters of ball from start point when ball first hit wall of gym, in cases where ball hit wall before bouncing. Col E: Vertical elevation of ball when ball hit wall, in meters, in cases when ball hit wall before bouncing. Col F: Horizontal distance in meters, of ball from start point when ball hit ceiling, in cases in which ball hit ceiling. Col G: Vertical elevation of ball in meters when ball hit ceiling, in cases in which ball hit ceiling. Col H: Apex height in meters of ball during ball flight path. Col I: Angle of ball (when ball furthest from start point) relative to angle of body and ball movement prior to kick (0= ball kicked to exactly straight ahead, -20 = ball kicked 20 degrees left of straight ahead; +15 = ball kicked to 15 degrees right of straight ahead. Col J:  Angle of ball when ball hits wall or ceiling or other barrier, compared to direct hit on target, from start point of run perspective. This is how much the ball misses the target by in degrees. A hit on the target counts as a miss of 0 degrees. For example, if the point at which the ball hit the wall from the start point perspective, looks like 30 degrees to the left of the target, this counts as -30 in col J.  Col K:  intended angle of ball relative to body direction at kick time. For example, if I intended to kick the ball at a 45 degree angle relative to the direction my body was moving at kick time, the number in col K would be,  +45. Col L: Angle of  target relative to start position.  Generally speaking I am air-dribbling with the ball at a wall, following a curving path. I define  the closest point on the wall I am going at is 0 degrees. Therefore a point on the wall that is from the start perspective 30 degrees to the left of this zero degree point, would be defined as -30. This would be the  eleven o'clock point on the imaginary clock in which twelve o'clock.  Col M: Curve in feet. For example 2R means the ball curved 2 feet to the right, ending up 2 feet to the right of where it would have ended up if it had gone straight ( right means closer to my right arm as I face towards the ball traveling away from me). Col N: this column shows the kind of spin that was on the ball as it traveled through the air.
