Drill WC06/10-P6.1-3T, Touch ball every step with changes of direction P6.1-3T is an abbreviated version of P6.1 (P6.1 is described in the Sept 1 log entry this page). It involves the ball flipped up and kicked forward approx 4.5 feet on L1; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the right on R2; and the ball kicked into the curtain or to the left on T3. The blue and wiggly line in the graphic represents the curtain. |
Drill WC06/10-P6.1-5T, Touch ball every step with changes of direction P6.1-5T is an abbreviated version of P6.1 (P6.1 is described in the Sept 1 log entry this page). It involves the ball flipped up and kicked forward approx 4.5 feet on L1; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the right on R2; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the left on L3; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the right on R4; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the left on L5. All this is done with the ball off the ground. The blue and wiggly line in the graphic represents the curtain. The gray line represents the wall at the far side of the curtain. The ball is kept close to the body but off the ground the entire time. after a foot kicks the ball, that foot skips (two steps in a row). These skips are the only foot movement allowed between kicks. |
Drill WC06/10-P6.1-5T-Reverse, Touch ball every step with changes of direction P6.1-5T-Reverse is an abbreviated version of P6.1 (P6.1 is described in the Sept 1 log entry this page). It is the reversed, mirror image of P6.1-5T. It involves the ball flipped up and kicked forward with the right foot, approx 4.5 feet on R1; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the left with the left foot on L2; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the right with the right foot on R3; the ball kicked at a 90 degree angle to the left with the left foot on L4; the ball touched on R5. Understanding the table: Stats are for David Virgil Hobbs. R2 Bod Pos: U=body was in upright position on R2; M=Body in medium crouch position on R2. L1R1 Type: L=leg power emphasized on L1 or R1 (some patterns start with a left-footed kick, L1 others start with a right-footed kick, R1); B=body power emphasized on L1. Runs: total number of L1 R2 runs not counting runs involving bad kicks on L1. Total Score: total number of points awarded to runs, not counting runs featuring bad kick on L1 (Runs are rates from 0-5 on the basis of the quality of the R2 kick, a 3 being what was considered minimally adequate as of Sept 17 2010, the higher the number the better the R2 kick). Avg: total score divided by Runs. Bad L1: number of runs involving a kick on L1 inaccurate enough that the kick on R2 is rendered extraordinarily difficult or impossible. % L1 Bad: Bad L1 divided by (Runs + Bad L1 Runs).

For first time, on R2 mentally concentrated on starting right foot to
inside of ball prior to kick. On all R2 kicks, intent was outwards
sweeping motion with leg.

At 649 PM, 18 mins into 60 min segment, There was a fast perfect
well-angled four-touch run; the 4th touch was 24 feet from the start
point. Thus, the average distance between touches given the zig-zag-type
pattern of the run, was 10.7 feet!
The run described in the above para was about the 4th such run (4th
touch 24' from start point, well angled, fast, correct
footwork) today.
Perfect=12; perfect & long=2; perfect & fast=0; perfect long & fast = 0 (Dec 18 standards applied retroactively). |

Perfect= 7; perfect & fast = 0; perfect long & fast =6. The high score was due IMHO to this being the second hour of practice. The body-emphasis during the first kick, created inconsistency. | ||||

12/15 @Y | M | L | AF1 | -- | 60 | -- | P6.1- 5T-M | Unscored (in writing); during entire 60 minutes, AF1 applied not just to second touch of run but to second and all subsequent touches of runs. This hour marked the second hour during which I was able to apply AF1 method to touches after the first touch.
This hour was a milestone, in that excellent results were achieved applying AF1 method to every touch, and in that after this hour, I became convinced that these difficult skills will be mastered in due course of time, result=superstardom. |

These two hours on December 18, marked another important day. Today for the first time I was able to apply the AF1 method to every touch on P6.1-5T-Rev (reversed, mirror image of P6.1-5T-Rev is P6.1-5T). I could tell today that this ability to apply AF1 method to every touch on P6.1-5T, will allow me to quickly master and perfect P6.1-5T and P6.1-5T-Rev, the result being super-stardom. At least a dozen of the runs today were super-hero-like, covering at least 22 feet with the ball in the air, but kept close to the body, and featuring 3 90-degree turns, 5 touches on the ball, the ball touched on every pace. |
